My name is Jorge Pirovano. I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in Asuncion, Paraguay, which is located right at the heart of South America. I have been studying in the US since August 2011, thanks to a partnership that Paraguay has with the State of Kansas, which is called Paraguay-Kansas (kinda obvious).
I grew up as the youngest in my family. I have four elder sisters: Renata, Vania, Bianca and Maki. Right now, our family amounts to 14 with the nephews and nieces, so hopefully, the number will continue to grow.
I really enjoy spending time with my family, now even more, since I don't get to see most of them during the majority of the year. My second oldest sister Vania, lives in Kansas, so I live with her and her family, which is great.
Some other things that I really enjoy are sports. I am a huge basketball fan, as well as soccer. During the summer, one of my nephews has gotten me interested in Rugby as well, so right now, that is my biggest obsession, at least until I get (decent) good at it.
The picture down there is from Christmas. Needless to say, that is only a small portion of our extended family. I am the first one at the bottom from left to right. I have celebrated Christmas both in Paraguay and in Kansas. One small difference, is that in our culture, when the clock strikes midnight, we gather around the Christmas tree and pray. Subsequently, the kids would go on and open the gifts. Another big difference is that it is summertime in Paraguay, which is really hot.
I used Picasa to darken the picture. The original picture was very bright, but still captured a very nice moment (even though one of my nephews doesn't look that happy).
